░▒▓ NAME: Paul Anthony Webb EMAIL: paul@webb.page HOMEPAGE: https://webb.page COMPANY: https://inc.sh PORTFOLIO: https://dsgn.inc.sh --- ░ EXPERIENCE 2020-NOW: development for Apple’s marketing and communications team on behalf of Critical Mass. I’ve worked on the iPhone and Vision Pro marketing pages and some internal sites. this translates to my a11y work benefitting the lives of millions. 2012-2019: smattering of failed startups (IoT, YouTube “competitor”, Medium “competitor”, &c) and stints at dev shops/consultancies. ▒▒ EDUCATION 2008-NOW: self‑taught in a recession and learned on the job ever since. Personal side projects deepen my understanding of technology and subject matter; business decisions are made in response to evolving market forces. ▓▓▓ SKILLS | | Proficiency | Notes | | --------------- | :---------: | :--------------------------------------: | | HTML/CSS/JS | ✦✦✦✦✦ | my bread & butter | | TypeScript | ✦✦✦✧✧ | i love being forced to write better code | | GraphQL | ✦✦✦✧✧ | i write .graphql files, no apollo here | | 10x Development | ✧✧✧✧✧ | i literally do not care | --- ░ TOOLS Bun: because using SvelteKit with Deno involves hoops I have no interest jumping through, I gotta use something and Bun fills that need well. Claude: waaaaay better than ChatGPT. Unlike StackOverflow, get answers without judgement and become more capable with crazier ideas. Deno: interop with Node.js without any Node.js nonsense? AND native TypeScript support?! Sign me up! Gel: previously known as EdgeDB, Gel is the database for people who don’t want to think about databases. I’m not a computer so why would I memorize and write SQL? No thanks. GraphQL: i don’t like Facebook but bless them for creating GraphQL. Holy moly, can you imagine using REST for everything? Yuck. Procreate: THE reason I purchased the first iPad Pro & Apple Pencil. I don’t use Sketch, Figma, &c for my designs, I sketch in Procreate to form a mental model and I develop from there. Sublime Text: it just works. Well. As much as I love JS/TS, I need my text editor to be native. Zed is cool but Sublime is better. SvelteKit: this JavaScript framework feels great to use, it’s the closest to writing web standard code, if that makes sense. Transmit: using CI/CD pipelines to autodeploy sites and services sound like a blast…I’m still SSH’ing into servers and I often need SFTP to sanity check my janky deploy scripts. ▒▒ PROJECTS please visit https://dsgn.inc.sh and https://webb.page for the latest. i’m always working on something interesting (to me, you can agree if you want).
